Writing Professionally Again

I have been writing for about a year and a half now for East Village Magazine.  I am grateful for the opportunity to write professionally again.  My current Editor, Jan Worth-Nelson refers to the magazine atmosphere as the EVM family.  Family is the correct description as I have been welcomed.  Sometimes we have fruits and cheeses to eat other times we have popcorn.  Since the pandemic; however, we have been meeting via Zoom.

My Assistant Editor, Tom Travis has been helping me as well to recognize the lead in stories.  He has a sad thing happening now as his son is a student at Purdue University and has Covid-19 along with his roommates.  Tom has asked for prayers.

My latest article is on GCCARD a program for delivering meals and commodities to the less fortunate or elderly.  You will need to visit https://www.eastvillagemagazine.orgThe article was published on September 14, 2020.

Veteran Urn

In 2011, I learned how my friend died of a heroin overdose.  Many people failed to understand my friend and his struggles.  He had a stutter and he never made it back mentally from Somalia where he served in the military.

His battles were real.  His last ride was on a Harley Davidson in an urn.  Another friend took him on his motorcycle through the streets of Fowlerville, Michigan.  His final resting place is beside a half-way house.

Gaining Confidence

Friday, August 9, 2019, A friend of mine and myself took a city bus to downtown Flint to enjoy the Flint Art Walk.  Taking a city bus was an accomplishment because I got lost in Washington state. https://www.eastvillagemagazine.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/EVM-08.19.pdf see pages 15 and 16 for my story on the various forms of transportation in Flint, Michigan.  I am now working as a reporter for East Village Magazine.

Unlabeled "Reflections of Insanity" by Michelle Elizabeth Graham

My daughter wrote this book and I hope some good will come of it as this is her desire to tell her story as she wants to improve the mental health system. The book has received many positive reviews.  The book Unlabeled "Reflections of Insanity," by Michelle Elizabeth Graham is available on Amazon.com or Shuler Books in Okemos, Michigan.  Please read this book and know there is hope.
